RIP Cohost

Cohost announced today that they will be going read-only on October 1st, then shutting down and shuttering the Anti-Software Software Club at the end of the year.

This is, obviously, a huge bummer for a lot of people. It's a huge bummer for me. Cohost was where I learned how to be comfortable with myself again. The people there were very kind to me. They wanted to build something that looked like what the internet should look like. Not to sound dramatic, but, I don't think I have it in me to join another social network after this.

In the short-term, this will probably mean a little break from being "a person on the internet", but long-term I'd like to come back here to post more. I'm not much of a blogger anymore — not in the classical sense — but I'd still like to have a place to post small updates and anecdotes, and it may as well be a place that I built, even if no one reads.

In the meantime, take a moment to be thankful for the little places. 💛
